Vedanta Ltd Wins 'Preferred Bidder' Status for Karnapodikonda Bauxite Block in Odisha

Vedanta Ltd has been declared as 'Preferred Bidder' for the Karnapodikonda bauxite block in Odisha, as per the 'Declaration of Preferred Bidder’ notification dated February 27, 2026. The block, which is at G2 level of exploration, covers a total area of 532.747 hectares and is a strategic fit for the company's Aluminium business. The Directorate of Mines and Geology, Government of Odisha had invited tenders for the auction process of the block in December 2025.
