Vodafone Idea Wins ₹2,113 Cr OTSC Litigation

Vodafone Idea Limited has received a favorable order from the Bombay High Court, quashing demand notices from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) for One Time Spectrum Charges (OTSC). The court also ordered the return of bank guarantees amounting to Rs. 2,113 crores. This litigation pertained to OTSC levied on erstwhile Idea Cellular and Spice Communications for spectrum usage between 2008 and 2013. The company had challenged the demand, which was revised to Rs. 3,322 crores during a merger approval process. This favorable ruling is a significant relief for Vodafone Idea.
