Welspun Enterprises' Subsidiary Wins Arbitration Case, Entitled to Receive ~X 23 Crore

Welspun Enterprises Ltd. announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, ARSS Bus Terminal Private Limited (ABTPL), has won an arbitration case against the Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC). The Arbitral Tribunal awarded ABTPL a sum of X18.43 Crore, along with interest, which is expected to be ~X 23 Crore in total. The dispute arose from a terminated Concession Agreement for the development of Baramunda Bus Terminal on a Public-Private Partnership Build-Operate-Transfer (PPP-BOT) basis. ABTPL had raised claims for compensation towards costs incurred and losses suffered, which were denied by OSRTC, leading to the arbitration. OSRTC challenged the award before the Ld. Civil Judge (Senior Division), Commercial Court, Bhubaneswar, but the challenge was dismissed on July 03, 2025, upholding the arbitral award in favor of ABTPL. OSRTC is entitled to appeal the order. Welspun Enterprises Limited has already given effect to the original award amount in its books of accounts.
