Purple Style Labs (Pernia's Pop-Up Shop) reported a consolidated net loss of ₹88.1 Cr for Q1 FY27, narrower by 12.2% from ₹100.3 Cr a year ago, on revenue growth of 13.0% YoY to ₹119.4 Cr. Sequentially the loss widened 40.0% from ₹62.9 Cr in Q4 FY26, and revenue fell 22.7% QoQ from ₹154.4 Cr — a seasonal step-down typical of fashion retail, where Q4 carries EOSS/wedding-season demand that Q1 doesn't repeat. This is the company's first result since its June 30, 2026 quarter-end and its September 7, 2026 NSE/BSE listing; the figures are unaudited but reviewed by joint statutory auditors Walker Chandiok & Co LLP and Shah & Kathariya.
Q1 FY-2027 vs prior quarters
No year-ago quarter on record — YoY cells may be blank.
The headline YoY 'improvement' is almost entirely an exceptional-item effect, not an operating one. The exceptional ESOP compensation charge fell 85% YoY to ₹8.0 Cr from ₹54.0 Cr a year ago. Strip that out and the pre-exceptional operating loss actually widened to ₹80.1 Cr from ₹46.4 Cr a year ago — a 72.9% deterioration (adjusted YoY) — because total expenses grew 31.7% YoY to ₹202.1 Cr, well ahead of the 13% revenue gain. Finance costs rose fastest, up 62.7% YoY to ₹34.0 Cr, with depreciation and amortisation up 65.6% YoY to ₹34.8 Cr — consistent with lease/right-of-use and borrowing costs tied to store and subsidiary expansion — while employee benefits expense rose 37.7% YoY to ₹25.2 Cr. On an ex-exceptional basis the operating margin compressed both YoY and QoQ.
There is no consensus to grade this against: Purple Style Labs listed only on September 7, 2026 and has not yet held a post-listing earnings call (scheduled September 29, 2026), so no street estimates exist, and management has issued no formal guidance on record. Standalone results show a much smaller ₹3.0 Cr loss purely because the standalone entity excludes PSL Retail Private Limited, the operating subsidiary that drives the bulk of consolidated revenue and loss — readers should anchor on the consolidated print, not standalone. This quarter's and immediately post-quarter corporate actions — the CIN change to reflect listed status, adoption of a fair disclosure code, and the September capital deployment of ₹420 Cr into PSL Retail and $7 Mn into the US subsidiary — are funded from the ₹680 Cr IPO completed at ₹575/share; the company says it will update on utilisation of proceeds 'effective next reporting period.'
W1
Whether the ex-exceptional operating loss (₹80.1 Cr this quarter, up from ₹46.4 Cr YoY and ₹54.9 Cr QoQ) stabilises as IPO capital scales revenue.
W2
Utilisation of the ₹680 Cr IPO proceeds — management has committed to an update 'effective next reporting period' (Q2 FY27).
W3
Q2 FY27 impact of the post-quarter ₹420 Cr investment in PSL Retail (Sep 15, 2026) and $7 Mn investment in the US subsidiary (Sep 21, 2026) on finance costs, opex and revenue scale.
