Delta Corp swung to a consolidated net loss of ₹106.4 Cr for Q2 FY27 (standalone loss ₹80.0 Cr) against a ₹25.1 Cr consolidated profit a year ago — the YoY swing is the headline, not the 49.9% narrowing of the loss versus Q1 FY27's ₹212.6 Cr loss, which is simply a smaller exceptional charge this quarter, not an operational rebound. The loss is almost entirely a one-off: the company booked a further ₹136.92 Cr consolidated (₹118.98 Cr standalone) exceptional GST provision this quarter, taking the cumulative H1 FY27 provision to ₹443.65 Cr consolidated, following the Supreme Court's May 27, 2026 judgment upholding GST applicability on casino/online-gaming transactions and subsequent adjudication orders. Stripping the exceptional item out, consolidated pre-tax profit was ₹21.57 Cr, itself down 37.8% YoY (₹34.69 Cr) and 22.2% QoQ (₹27.74 Cr); adjusting PAT for the exceptional item and its associated deferred-tax effect, underlying consolidated profit is roughly ₹9-10 Cr versus ₹25.1 Cr a year ago, a decline of ~60%, meaning the business itself — not just the GST charge — weakened YoY.
Q2 FY-2027 vs prior quarters
Consolidated revenue of ₹159.3 Cr fell 12.8% YoY and 5.5% QoQ. Casino gaming, the core segment, brought in ₹151.3 Cr, down 13.4% YoY though roughly flat QoQ. Hospitality revenue cratered to ₹7.9 Cr from ₹16.6 Cr the prior quarter (-52.6% QoQ) after heavy monsoon flooding on July 23, 2026 forced a 37-day suspension of operations at The Deltin, Daman, which only resumed normal operations on August 29, 2026 — a disclosed, non-recurring drag rather than a structural shift. On margins, segment profit before unallocable items and the exceptional charge fell to ₹21.64 Cr from ₹28.37 Cr YoY, i.e. compression concentrated in casino gaming (segment result ₹26.67 Cr vs ₹31.11 Cr YoY) and a widened hospitality segment loss (₹4.54 Cr vs ₹2.74 Cr YoY), consistent with the flood disruption.
The stock went into the print at ₹76.89, up 36.9% over the past month of trading.
What the summary numbers don't show
Consolidated basic EPS ₹(3.97) vs ₹0.94 a year ago — standalone EPS ₹(2.99) vs ₹0.84
Consolidated cash & equivalents rose to ₹152.5 Cr from ₹75.7 Cr at FY26-end, aided by ₹30 Cr fresh borrowings and net investment liquidation
There is no management guidance on record for this quarter, in our database or in the filing itself, and a web search turned up no sell-side consensus estimates specifically for the Q2 FY27 print, so both vs-guidance and vs-street are unknown. There is also no management press release in the context accompanying these results beyond the standard exchange intimation. Corporate developments this quarter tie directly to the numbers: a fresh ₹153.54 Cr GST demand surfaced on Sept 26, 2026 and a smaller ₹3.08 Cr GST demand-with-penalty followed on Oct 15, 2026, both consistent with the continuing wave of GST litigation behind this quarter's provision; the company clarified on Sept 28 that it held no undisclosed material information ahead of the results. Litigation remains unresolved: the company has paid ₹80.97 Cr (consolidated) principal under protest under Rule 31C adjudication for the July 2017-March 2022 period while continuing to contest the balance of demand on mixed supply and interest, and management states no provision is required against goodwill (₹93.51 Cr) or past associate investments given current recoverability assessments.
