Monte Carlo Fashions posted a consolidated net loss of ₹23.42 Cr for Q1 FY27 (June quarter), 44.4% wider than the ₹16.22 Cr loss a year ago, even as revenue from operations grew 7.6% YoY to ₹149.04 Cr from ₹138.53 Cr. EPS came in at -₹11.30 versus -₹7.82 a year ago. Standalone tracked almost identically (revenue ₹149.04 Cr, loss ₹23.48 Cr, EPS -₹11.33), so the group-level number is not masking a subsidiary-driven divergence. Sequentially, revenue fell 46.8% and profit swung from a ₹5.03 Cr Q4 FY26 profit to this quarter's loss — a seasonal pattern the company itself calls out (Note 6/7: "business being of seasonal nature, performance in any quarter may not be representative of the annual performance"), since Q4 (Jan-Mar) captures winter-wear demand that Q1 (Apr-Jun) does not.
Q1 FY-2027 vs prior quarters
Both margin lines compressed year-on-year: operating margin fell to -8.68% from -4.24%, and net margin to -15.71% from -10.89%. The squeeze traces to cost lines growing faster than revenue — cost of materials consumed rose 19.4% YoY, purchases of stock-in-trade rose 14.9%, and employee benefit expense rose 14.5% to ₹37.03 Cr; the company's notes attribute part of the employee-cost increase to higher gratuity and leave-encashment liability following the new Labour Codes, whose central rules were notified in May 2026. Finance costs also rose roughly 12-13% YoY on both bases.
The stock went into the print at ₹507.35, down 7% over the past month of trading.

CMD Jawahar Lal Oswal and Executive Directors Ruchika/Monica Oswal re-appointed for fresh 5-year terms at the same board meeting
Management is confident in achieving double-digit growth for the upcoming financial year, reiterating their commitment to delivering performance in line with stated guidance. Specific quantitative guidance for FY27 will be provided in Q2, acknowledging some near-term geopolitical and inflationary uncertainties. The com
There is no analyst consensus or brokerage preview available for this specific quarter's numbers to grade a beat/miss against (search turned up no Q1 FY27-specific estimates), so vsStreet is unknown. On guidance, management's only stated FY27 marker — from the Q4 FY26 call — was confidence in "double-digit growth," with formal quantitative guidance still due in Q2 FY27; Q1's 7.6% YoY revenue growth trails that aspiration, but a single seasonally weak quarter, ahead of the formal guidance itself, is not a fair test of it. The board used the same August 5 meeting to approve a further investment of up to ₹30 Cr in wholly-owned subsidiary MCFL Energy Projects (solar), on top of a ₹40 Lakh tranche in May 2026 — continuing the solar capex program management had flagged as additive to the standalone business once billing begins. No standalone management press release or earnings commentary accompanied this filing beyond the SEBI outcome-of-meeting letter, so there is no separate management framing to reconcile against the print.

Formal FY27 revenue/EBITDA guidance due at the Q2 FY27 concall — will it confirm the 'double-digit growth' aspiration flagged after Q4 FY26, against Q1's 7.6% YoY print

MCFL Energy Projects solar billing start 'within the current financial year' (per FY26 guidance), following the fresh ₹30 Cr investment approved this quarter

Margin trajectory next quarter — OPM (-8.68%) and NPM (-15.71%) both compressed YoY; watch for normalization or further Labour Codes-related cost impact
Figures converted from ₹ Lakh (source unit) to ₹ Cr; standalone and consolidated diverge by <1%, consolidated used as primary. No exceptional/one-off items disclosed in either statement's notes — raw and adjusted YoY PAT growth are identical. Company explicitly flags its business as seasonal (Note 6/7), so QoQ decline vs the winter-heavy Q4 is not comparable operationally.
