Atlanta Electricals' consolidated PAT rose 28.0% YoY to ₹32.13 Cr on revenue up 23.1% YoY to ₹390.08 Cr — solid growth, but both decelerated sharply from Q1 FY27 (PAT -31.4% QoQ, revenue -16.3% QoQ), consistent with transformer-industry order-execution timing rather than classic retail-style seasonality. No Q2-specific brokerage estimate was found to benchmark the print against street consensus; the only reference point is Q1 FY27, where Motilal Oswal's PAT estimate was beaten by 34% and the brokerage retained Buy with a ₹1,950 target built on FY27 consensus EPS near ₹36.90 — a bar this quarter's margin miss tests.
Q2 FY-2027 vs prior quarters
On guidance, management's own 16–17.5% EBITDA-margin band (from the July concall) was missed: operating margin (PBT less other income, plus finance cost and depreciation, over revenue) came in at 15.3% this quarter, down from 17.3% a year ago and 16.5% last quarter. The drag sits squarely on raw materials — cost of materials consumed, adjusted for the inventory swing, rose to 73.4% of revenue from 69.2% a year earlier, pointing to CRGO steel/copper input-cost pressure for a pure-play transformer manufacturer. Partly offsetting that, net margin actually expanded YoY to 8.2% (from 7.9%) because finance cost fell 36% YoY to ₹8.45 Cr (₹13.20 Cr) on debt paydown funded by FY26 IPO/QIP proceeds, even as depreciation nearly doubled to ₹10.02 Cr (₹5.51 Cr) as new capacity comes onstream.
The stock went into the print at ₹1,589.2, down 2.8% over the past month of trading.
40% CAGR revenue growth for 3 years with stable 16–17.5% EBITDA margins. ₹2,400 Cr of ₹3,100 Cr order book executable FY27. 400 kV meaningful revenue FY28; 765 kV bidding FY28. Export 15% of revenue target 3-year horizon.
— This quarter: missed
The standalone-consolidated gap is itself a data point: standalone PAT of ₹39.52 Cr sits ₹7.4 Cr above the consolidated figure because subsidiaries (Atlanta Transformers, AE Components, Atlanta Trafo) are still loss-making while contributing no standalone-level revenue yet — these are the units management has tied to the guided 400kV (meaningful revenue FY28) and 765kV (bidding FY28) ramp, so the current drag is capacity being built ahead of that curve. On the order side, the book stood at ₹3,116.63 Cr as of the Q1 FY27-end disclosure, above the ₹2,400 Cr of ₹3,100 Cr management flagged as FY27-executable, and August added a fresh ₹193.92 Cr APTRANSCO transformer order; the Board approved this result on October 31, 2026 alongside the routine trading-window closure in late September. No standalone management press release accompanies this filing, so there is no company quote to reconcile against the numbers here.
W1
Whether operating margin recovers into the guided 16–17.5% band in H2 FY27 — it ran 15.3% this quarter against that band
W2
Subsidiary losses (₹10.03 Cr for H1 FY27) narrowing as new capacity ramps toward the guided 400kV (FY28) and 765kV-bidding (FY28) milestones
W3
Order-book execution pace against the ₹2,400 Cr of ₹3,100+ Cr management flagged as executable within FY27
No exceptional items in the current or year-ago quarter (the ₹1.24 Cr FY26 exceptional sat in Q4 FY26, outside both compared periods); standalone PAT (₹39.52 Cr) exceeds consolidated (₹32.13 Cr) because subsidiaries posted a combined ₹10.03 Cr net loss for H1 FY27 per the auditors' review note; scan has minor OCR noise but all figures cross-check via PBT/tax/PAT arithmetic and EPS reconciliation (shares = ₹15.38 Cr capital / ₹2 face value).
