The aggregate contract value is ₹82.42 crore — a large number for this company: roughly 13% of its ≈₹625 crore market cap, and about a third of the ₹253.68 crore standalone revenue in the most recent quarterly line available in our data (Q2 FY-2026). The stock closed the session at ₹280, up 2.0%.

₹82.42 Cr OPGW supply-and-installation package from POWERGRID

The company received Notifications of Award from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd for the supply, execution and erection of OPGW under the OPGW-06 package, across various transmission lines at pan-India locations. The contract was awarded through a domestic competitive bidding process. Per the press release, the Notifications of Award were issued by POWERGRID on August 24, 2026 and signed on September 9, 2026; the announcement reached the exchange at 11:44 IST on September 10, during the session.

Read:The press release describes OPGW as a specialised "2-in-1" cable strung on high-voltage transmission towers: it shields the line from lightning and electrical faults while carrying optical fibres for high-speed data. The filing frames the win as momentum for the company's existing OPGW segment — an expansion beyond its traditional steel-wire business rather than a first product line. No delivery schedule or margin profile for the order is disclosed in the filing.

BSE press release, Sep 10, 2026
Management commentary
We are pleased to receive this landmark order from POWERGRID for the supply, execution and erection of OPGW across various transmission lines in India. This order is an important milestone for Systematic as we continue to expand our capabilities beyond our traditional wire business into new-age infrastructure solutions. The order provides further momentum to our OPGW business and strengthens our execution capabilities in this segment.

Siddharth Agarwal, Managing Director — press release, Sep 10, 2026

The company, founded in 2000, describes itself as a manufacturer of steel wires and specialised wire solutions, with products that already include aluminium-clad steel wires, Optical Fibre Cables and OPGW, serving power and transmission, infrastructure, automobile, agriculture and telecommunications customers with a team of 400-plus professionals. Note the wording carefully: the managing director's statement speaks of further momentum to an existing OPGW business — the filing does not claim this is the company's first OPGW order, only its largest disclosed one, and calls it a landmark. The strategic read the filing supports is convergence: POWERGRID contracts of this kind sit at the intersection of grid build-out and digital connectivity, which is where management says it wants the company to grow.

The price context matters as much as the order. The stock is up 46% over the 60 sessions shown, and +31.5% in just the eight sessions since August 31 — including back-to-back moves of +12.7% (Sep 1) and +12.5% (Sep 2), the latter on 2,47,800 shares, the heaviest volume in the window. No filing in this 60-day window corresponds to those two sessions; the exchange record between August 26 and September 3 contains only a board-meeting intimation filed on the evening of September 3. Note also the sequencing the press release itself discloses: POWERGRID issued the Notifications of Award on August 24, when the stock closed at ₹228.90. Between the award's issuance and its public disclosure the stock rose about 20% (₹228.90 → ₹274.50, the last close before the September 10 disclosure) — a period that also contained the September 8 acquisition and fund-raise announcements. On September 10 the stock touched an adjusted 52-week high of ₹295.10 intraday before closing at ₹280, still 124% above its March low of ₹125.

Board approves 100% acquisition of Wire Brigade Industries plus a ₹33.94 Cr preferential issue

At its September 8 meeting, the board approved acquiring 10,000 equity shares — 100% of the equity share capital — of Wire Brigade Industries Private Limited (WBIPL) from Veritas Industries Private Limited, a Promoter Group entity, making this a related-party transaction; the board said the deal would be done at arm's length based on a valuation from an independent registered valuer. The board also approved creating, offering and allotting up to 14,88,600 equity shares on a private-placement and preferential basis. The accompanying press release describes a ₹33.94 crore fund-raise through the preferential issue and says the WBIPL acquisition, in Howrah, West Bengal, expands manufacturing capacity to 1.72 lakh MT. An Extraordinary General Meeting is convened for October 1, 2026, with September 25 fixed as the cut-off date for e-voting eligibility.

Read:The 14,88,600 new shares would expand the current base of 2,23,31,242 shares by about 6.7% (our computation), subject to the approvals the company is seeking. All six September 8 filings hit the exchange after the close; the first session after them, September 9, closed −2.6%.

Board meeting outcome, Sep 8, 2026

Put together, the six weeks read as an expansion sprint: a plant bought in Chhattisgarh in August, a Promoter Group company bought in West Bengal alongside ₹33.94 crore of fresh equity announced on September 8, and an ₹82.42 crore public-sector order disclosed on September 10. WBIPL's own FY26 provisional numbers — ₹109.75 crore revenue, ₹5.93 crore EBITDA, ₹2.14 crore PAT — are modest next to the ₹82.42 crore order size. What the filings do not yet provide is the execution picture for the OPGW order — no delivery timeline for the OPGW-06 package and no disclosed order-book total. For a company whose most recent quarterly line shows ₹9.29 crore of standalone net profit, how this order converts to revenue and margin is the open question, and that is inference on our part rather than anything the filings state.

What to watch

The filings that would change the picture

  • Oct 1 EGM

Shareholder approval for the preferential issue and the WBIPL share-swap acquisition; e-voting eligibility cut-off is September 25. The issue price (₹228/share) and the 21 allottees — including Promoter Group entity Veritas Industries — are already disclosed; what remains pending is EGM approval and the actual allotment.

  • Sep 22 AGM

The 26th AGM (via video conference, 1:30 PM IST) with remote e-voting September 19–21; the FY 2025-26 annual report is already filed.

  • OPGW-06 execution

The press release gives no delivery schedule. Any filing that adds timelines, milestones or follow-on OPGW awards would size the segment management says it is building.

  • Quarterly numbers

Whether coming results break out OPGW or order-book disclosures — the ₹82.42 crore order equals roughly a third of the latest quarterly standalone revenue on record.

The verifiable core is straightforward: a ₹82.42 crore supply-and-installation order from POWERGRID, won in domestic competitive bidding, awarded August 24, signed September 9 and disclosed September 10 — equal to about 13% of the company's market capitalisation. Management calls it a landmark and frames it as momentum for an OPGW segment it is building beyond the traditional steel-wire business.

The caution is equally concrete. This is a ≈₹625 crore small-cap that has risen 31.5% in eight sessions — with the sharpest two days preceded by no filing in the record we hold — and it is simultaneously asking shareholders to approve an acquisition and a 6.7% equity expansion. The October 1 EGM outcome and the first execution disclosures on OPGW-06 are the next hard data points; until then, the order is a contract won, not revenue earned.
