Core business strengthened — revenue +34.5% YoY with OPM up ~180bps and adjusted PBT (ex-other-income) roughly tripling — while the headline -77.7% PAT decline is purely a base effect from a large one-off other-income gain in the year-ago quarter.

Jaykay Enterprises reported consolidated total income of ₹76.79 Cr for Q1 FY27 (quarter ended June 30, 2026), up 34.5% YoY on operating income of ₹74.57 Cr (from ₹55.45 Cr) and up 21.9% QoQ. Consolidated PAT was ₹4.51 Cr, down 77.6% YoY in raw terms against the year-ago ₹20.20 Cr print — but that comparison is distorted: Q1 FY26 included a ₹18.40 Cr one-off pre-tax gain from sale of shares that is entirely absent this quarter. Stripping that out, adjusted Q1 FY26 PAT was approximately ₹4.48 Cr, meaning underlying YoY PAT growth was roughly flat (+0.7% adjusted) even as revenue grew ~35%. QoQ, PAT fell 97% from ₹179.82 Cr in Q4 FY26, but that quarter was inflated by an even larger ₹181.83 Cr exceptional item and is not a meaningful comparison base.

Margins compressed on this adjusted basis: net profit margin fell to roughly 5.9% this quarter from an adjusted ~7.6% a year ago, driven mainly by employee benefit expenses rising 17% YoY to ₹39.31 Cr as the group scales its Defence, Digital Manufacturing and Digital Service operations. Segment mix shifted meaningfully: Digital Service revenue (₹59.81 Cr, +25.5% YoY) remains the largest contributor, Digital Manufacturing & Advance Systems surged to ₹9.03 Cr from just ₹0.48 Cr a year ago, while the standalone-adjacent Defence & Aerospace Division segment revenue actually declined to ₹5.73 Cr from ₹7.32 Cr YoY and ₹12.40 Cr QoQ — a softer print than management's framing of continued Defence momentum would suggest, though order timing in defence contracts is typically lumpy.

For context: revenue is at a 6-quarter high.

Management's press release characterised the quarter as continuing business momentum in Defence & Aerospace, specifically citing the Devanahalli project as on track, and called the Medical Implants business's early customer response "exciting" with an aggressive scale-up planned; outlook was framed as "robust." The segment-level Defence revenue decline this quarter sits somewhat at odds with that framing, even as the broader group topline grew on Digital Service and Digital Manufacturing strength. There is no prior formal guidance or concall commentary on record for this company, and no analyst/street coverage was found (0 analysts track the stock per available data), so vsGuidance and vsStreet cannot be assessed beyond "none/unknown." Separately, the company confirmed no deviation in utilization of the ₹146.15 Cr raised via rights issue, with the bulk of proceeds now deployed toward JK Defence loan repayment, plant & machinery, and general corporate purposes. Auditors carried forward an unresolved emphasis-of-matter on subsidiary Neumesh Labs Pvt Ltd, whose net worth remains negative at ₹44.17 Cr with current liabilities exceeding assets by ₹48.11 Cr; the group has suspended quarterly interest recognition on its loan to that subsidiary pending a year-end review.
