Trident reported consolidated PAT of ₹158.09 Cr for Q1 FY27, up 12.95% YoY from ₹139.96 Cr, on revenue from operations of ₹1,786.83 Cr (+4.68% YoY). Sequentially profit jumped 55% off a soft Q4 (₹101.98 Cr), but in a seasonal textile business that is largely a low-base recovery — the year-on-year read is the cleaner one: a modest topline paired with a healthier bottom line. There were no exceptional items in either the current or comparison quarter, so reported and underlying growth are the same.
Q1 FY-2027 vs prior quarters
Profit outran revenue because the Yarn segment result more than doubled YoY to ₹145.8 Cr (from ₹70.1 Cr), and depreciation fell to ₹70.2 Cr from ₹92.8 Cr. That lifted net margin to 8.85% from 8.10% a year ago. The margin expansion, however, sits on the net line rather than on broad operating leverage: core operating margin actually slipped slightly to ~16.8% from 17.1%, as Towel segment profit dropped to ₹33.7 Cr from ₹47.6 Cr while Bedsheets and Paper & chemicals were broadly flat. The bottom-line improvement is therefore a yarn-spread and lower-depreciation story more than an all-round one.
The stock went into the print at ₹25.1, down 3.2% over the past month of trading.
For context: this is the highest quarterly PAT in the last 6 quarters on our records; PAT has now risen for 2 consecutive quarters.
Consolidated is the primary basis; standalone tells a slightly softer story (PAT +9.7% YoY to ₹152.93 Cr), the ~3-point divergence stemming from the associate Trident Global Corporation (associate w.e.f. Sept 2025) and overseas subsidiaries picked up in consolidation. No brokerage consensus previews were available for this quarter and management provides no formal financial guidance, so there is no beat/miss benchmark — the print stands on its own as steady growth. Alongside the results the Board approved a new domestic wholly-owned subsidiary to drive overseas brand-building and marketing, the company declared and paid a ₹0.50/share interim dividend during the quarter, and it had earlier approved an ESOP 2026 scheme. No management press release accompanied the filing in our records; the results are unaudited and carry an unmodified limited-review opinion.
