Zuari Agro Chemicals' consolidated PAT fell 68.5% sequentially to ₹37.37 Cr on revenue of ₹397.72 Cr, down 35.3% QoQ from Q1 FY27's ₹615.21 Cr/₹118.70 Cr. Consolidated net profit margin compressed to 9.4% from 19.3% in Q1 FY27. Critically, of the ₹44.45 Cr consolidated PBT, ₹22.14 Cr (about half) came from an exceptional gain whose nature the filing does not spell out — operating PBT before this item was just ₹22.31 Cr, and adjusting it out, PAT would have been closer to ₹15.2 Cr. Standalone (parent-only) results were weaker still: a loss of ₹6.08 Cr on total income of only ₹10.55 Cr, all of it other income — the standalone entity booked zero revenue from operations this quarter, continuing the pattern since the business-transfer and MCFL-exit restructuring. The standalone loss did narrow from Q1 FY27's ₹16.44 Cr.
Q2 FY-2027 vs prior quarters
The headline year-on-year numbers (revenue down 72% to ₹397.72 Cr from ₹1,422.63 Cr; PAT down 96% to ₹37.37 Cr from ₹840.36 Cr) are explicitly flagged by the company (Note 5) as not comparable: Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers Limited, previously a subsidiary, was deconsolidated with effect from 26 September 2025 — four days before the prior-year quarter closed — and its business was amalgamated into Paradeep Phosphates under an NCLT-approved scheme. The year-ago quarter's huge revenue and the unusually high 58.9% NPM/69.7% OPM in that period reflect MCFL's business and a large one-off gain booked around the loss-of-control event, not a sustainable run-rate. Adjusting for the current quarter's ₹22.14 Cr exceptional gain only, YoY PAT is still down roughly 98%, but this comparison remains structurally distorted by the scope change and should not be read as an operating decline.
The stock went into the print at ₹178.93, down 18.3% over the past month of trading.

Consolidated basic EPS ₹8.87 vs ₹28.17 in Q1 FY27 (YoY ₹191.68 not comparable per above)
There is no analyst coverage or street consensus found for this result, and no prior formal guidance in our records or management's press release — the company gives no quantified outlook, so vs-street and vs-guidance cannot be assessed beyond 'unknown'. On the corporate-action side, the board same-day approved repayment of ₹95 Cr of inter-corporate deposits (ICDs) and availing ₹100 Cr of fresh ICDs from Adventz Finance, continuing a deleveraging pattern that included ₹214.5 Cr and ₹44 Cr of ICD repayments in September 2026 (leaving standalone short-term borrowings only modestly changed at ₹140 Cr vs ₹413 Cr at FY26-end, with corresponding non-current borrowings rising). A ₹3 lakh RoC fine in August 2026 is immaterial. No earnings press release accompanies this filing — only the Regulation 30 outcome letter — so there is no management commentary to reconcile against the print; Note 9 does disclose the company is 'currently evaluating new strategic business opportunities to strengthen its operational and financial position and create sustainable revenue streams,' which is the only forward-looking line management has put on record, and is relevant given standalone has had no operating revenue this quarter.
