Amara Raja Energy pays ₹13.3 Lakhs GST penalty

Amara Raja Energy & Mobility Ltd has received a penalty order from the GST department for ₹13,30,018. The penalty was imposed due to a mismatch between the 'ship-to' address in the tax invoice/delivery challan and the E-Waybill. The company paid the penalty to secure the release of a withheld truck. Amara Raja Energy & Mobility states that both addresses were registered places of business under GST and the address was auto-populated on the E-Waybill. The company plans to file an appeal. They have assessed that there is no material impact on their financials, operations, or other activities.
