Ashok Leyland Wins ₹222.65 Cr Arbitration Award from DTC

Ashok Leyland Limited has received a partial award of ₹222.65 Crore plus interest and legal costs from an Arbitral Tribunal in New Delhi concerning claims against Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC). The dispute arose from bus supplies made between 2009-2011. The company had initiated arbitration in 2013 for claims totaling ₹445 Crore, while DTC had a counterclaim of ₹136 Crore, which has been entirely rejected. Ashok Leyland is currently reviewing the award to ascertain the final amount and considering options for the portion of its claim that was not awarded.
