Bondada Engineering Secures India's First Large VRFB BESS Project
Bondada Engineering Limited has received a Notification of Award (NOA) from NTPC Renewable Energy Limited for an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) Package. The project involves developing a 100 MWh Vanadium Redox Flow Battery (VRFB) Energy Storage System at Khavda Solar Park, Gujarat, with Delectrik Systems Pvt Ltd as the Technology Partner. This marks India's first and largest grid-scale VRFB BESS project. The VRFB technology offers advantages over conventional LFP batteries, including a longer service life (over 25 years), high safety, and reduced operational expenditure, aligning with India's energy security goals. The project is crucial for grid stability and supports India's ambitious target of deploying 236 GWh of Battery Energy Storage Systems by 2030.
