Capacite: 19% YoY revenue growth, but consolidated PAT slips 7% as margins compress
Capacite Infraprojects' consolidated revenue from operations rose 19.3% YoY to ₹770.93 Cr (and 22.6% QoQ from Q1 FY27's ₹628.93 Cr), tracking close to management's maintained FY27 target of 20% YoY revenue growth. Consolidated PAT, however, fell 6.9% YoY to ₹47.56 Cr from ₹51.06 Cr in Q2 FY26, even as it rose 19.4% sequentially off Q1's weak ₹39.84 Cr base — the YoY decline is the material read, since Q1's own base was depressed. No consensus estimates specific to this quarter turned up in available coverage (results were announced today, November 4, 2026, too fresh for preview pieces), so vsStreet is unknown; no separate management press release was available in the record to cross-check against the filing. The gap between strong topline growth and a weaker bottom line sits in margins: operating margin (EBITDA/revenue) came in at roughly 15.45%, below the floor of management's own 15.5-16.5% FY27 guidance band and down from 16.76% a year ago, while net margin compressed to 6.17% from 7.85% YoY. Both were roughly flat sequentially against Q1's 15.69%/6.23%, so this is a YoY phenomenon rather than fresh in-quarter deterioration, consistent with cost of materials and construction expenses growing faster than revenue. Net debt also widened to approximately ₹530 Cr as of September 30, 2026 from about ₹320 Cr at March 31, 2026, as H1 capex (₹124.96 Cr against a raised FY27 target of ₹193 Cr) and a combined ₹208.9 Cr build-up in trade receivables and contract assets absorbed operating cash flow — a trajectory running counter to the 'net debt-free in 8 quarters' target management set on the Q1 FY27 call. The quarter also saw leadership turnover: the Director-Operations & CEO resigned on August 18, 2026, and the company appointed four new CEOs on September 9, 2026. On results day, the board separately approved two new overseas step-down subsidiaries (Dubai, UAE at 75% CIL stake, and a wholly-owned Uganda entity) to pursue EPC work outside India, while order wins — a ₹306 Cr Puravankara contract and a ₹368.98 Cr Chennai Metro contract — landed just after the quarter closed and will show up in Q3 FY27, not these numbers. Management's cautiously optimistic short-term tone from the Q1 call will need re-confirmation against this quarter's margin undershoot on the upcoming earnings call.
