NCL Production & Dispatch Surge 67% & 75% Post-Monsoon

Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited (CIL), has significantly ramped up coal production and dispatch following the receding monsoon. As of September 8, 2026, NCL's coal production increased by 67% and supplies by 75% compared to early September. Total production for FY 2026-27 reached 51.43 MT, with supplies at 55 MT. Power sector receives 87% of NCL's supplies. Rake loading via Indian Railways more than doubled. CIL's overall daily production rose 40% and supplies to the power sector increased 27% on September 8, 2026, indicating a strong recovery and improved supply chain reliability.
