Coal India Limited has appointed M/s Bandyopadhyaya Bhaumik & Co., Cost Accountants, to conduct the cost audit for the company's standalone operations for the financial year 2026-27. The decision was made based on the recommendations of the Audit Committee and approved by the Board of Directors at their meeting on June 16, 2026. Bandyopadhyaya Bhaumik & Co. is an experienced firm with over three decades of expertise in cost and management accounting, serving various industries and large public sector undertakings.

Coal India Limited (CIL) is implementing business-friendly initiatives to increase coal supply to the Non-Regulated Sector (NRS). CIL is offering an all-time high of 35 Million Tonnes (MTs) of high GCV coal to the Sponge Iron sector through linkage auctions to reduce import dependence. Additionally, CIL has permitted the Steel (coking) sub-sector to sell coal middlings in the open market and increased the flexibility for changing consortium partners. NRS consumers can now secure coal linkages for future projects before commissioning. CIL also continues to meet power sector demands, offering significant volumes in short-term and long/medium-term auctions, and will conduct further short-term auctions.

Coal India Limited (CIL) has been fined ₹5,45,160 (inclusive of GST) by the National Stock Exchange (NSE) for non-compliance with SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015 for the quarter ended March 31, 2026. The violations pertain to Regulations 17(1), 18(1), and 19(1) & 19(2). CIL stated that the non-compliance was not due to negligence and is related to board member appointments, which are outside the management's control and handled by the President of India. CIL is pursuing the Ministry of Coal for timely appointments and had requested a waiver from NSE, noting past favorable consideration of such requests.

The President of India, acting through the Ministry of Coal, Government of India, promoter of Coal India Ltd, sold 123,279,566 equity shares representing 2.00% of the total share capital through an offer for sale (OFS) via the stock exchange mechanism. The OFS included a base offer size and an oversubscription option, along with shares offered to eligible employees. Post-sale, the promoter's holding stands at 3,767,456,372 shares, representing 61.13% of the total share capital.

The Ministry of Coal, Government of India, a promoter of Coal India Limited, sold equity shares of the company through an Offer for Sale (OFS) via NSE and BSE. This disclosure is pursuant to Regulation 7(2)(b) of the SEBI (Prohibition of Insider Trading) Regulations, 2015.
