Coal India Production Up 8.44% in July FY'27; Supplies Surge 18.38%

Coal India Limited (CIL) reported a strong operational performance for July FY'27, with coal production increasing by 8.44% to 50.36 million tonnes (MT) and coal supplies surging by 18.38% to 64.19 MT. This marks the highest-ever coal offtake for the month of July. Cumulative coal supplies for April-July FY'27 also reached a record high of 262.04 MT, a 6.9% increase year-on-year. Supplies to the power sector grew by 18% to 49.77 MT, and to the non-regulated sector by 21% to 14.42 MT. Overburden removal, crucial for sustained production, increased by 21.11% to 120.35 million cubic meters (MCuM) in July FY'27.
