
Deccan Gold Mines Inaugurates Jonnagiri Gold Project
Deccan Gold Mines Limited has inaugurated its Jonnagiri Gold Project in Andhra Pradesh, with the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu officiating the ceremony. The project, operated by associate company Geomysore Services (India) Pvt Ltd, will process 1,000 tonnes of ore daily, producing 400-600 kg of gold annually. Expansion plans aim to increase processing to 2,500 tonnes per day, yielding over 1 tonne of gold per annum. The Chief Minister announced the renaming of Jonnagiri village to Swarnagiri and pledged support for expansion. This project is highlighted as a significant step towards reducing India's gold import dependency and boosting domestic production and economic growth in the Kurnool District.
