Fermenta Biotech Limited has received approval from the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) for its Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol) - Plant Source, branded as VITADEE Green®. This approval allows the ingredient to be used in Health Supplements, Nutraceuticals, and Food Products across India. The company highlights that this development opens up a large consumer base to a sustainable, scalable, and affordable Vitamin D3 solution, backed by an Indian process patent. It aims to address the widespread Vitamin D deficiency in India and supports the 'Make in India' initiative by providing a domestically manufactured, plant-based option.
