GK Energy Receives LoA for 150 MW / 300 MWh BESS in Maharashtra

GK Energy Limited has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) for setting up 150 MW / 300 MWh Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in Maharashtra. The LoA was issued under a tariff-based competitive bidding process for 2,000 MW / 4,000 MWh BESS with Viability Gap Funding. GK Energy was a successful bidder at a tariff of ₹2,38,000 per MW per month, projecting a yearly revenue of ₹42.84 Crore (excluding GST) for 15 years. This award marks GK Energy's entry into the BESS segment, expanding its capabilities beyond solar pumping and rooftop solar, and diversifying its decentralized energy solutions.
