Graphite India to Close German Operations Due to War Impact

Graphite India Ltd has announced the discontinuation and closure of its Graphite Specialities and Coating divisions in Germany. The decision stems from the lasting impact of the Russia-Ukraine war and weak demand, which have adversely affected the competitiveness of these divisions. The closure is estimated to take approximately six months, pending discussions with the local Works Council. The affected divisions contributed INR 1,05,29,07,925 (4%) to the turnover in FY 25-26. The net worth of these divisions as of March 31, 2026, was negative INR (3,22,52,74,216), representing -6% of the overall consolidated net worth of INR 5859 crores.
