Grasim, Suzlon Pact for Recyclable Wind Turbine Blades
Grasim Industries' Advanced Materials Division and its subsidiary Aditya Birla Renewables Limited (ABRen) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Suzlon Energy Limited. This collaboration aims to develop, commercialize, and scale wind turbines featuring recyclable blades powered by Grasim's Recyclamine® epoxy technology. Conventional blades are difficult to recycle, often ending up in landfills. Recyclamine® allows for chemical recycling, recovering valuable composite materials. Suzlon will integrate this technology into blade manufacturing, ABRen will deploy a turbine with these blades at a project site for commercial viability testing, and both parties will explore broader market adoption. This initiative supports circular economy principles in the wind energy sector, reducing waste and environmental impact.
