Greenlam Industries Wins Case Against GST Show Cause Notice

Greenlam Industries Ltd has announced a favorable outcome in its legal challenge against a Show Cause Notice (SCN) issued by the Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) authorities. The SCN, dated July 28, 2025, sought recovery of tax and penalty totaling Rs. 7.68 Crore, along with applicable interest, due to incorrect IGST refunds for the periods Oct-18 to Mar-19, Apr-19 to Mar-20, and Apr-20 to Mar-21. The company had filed a writ petition with the Hon'ble High Court of Himachal Pradesh, which, in its order on November 3, 2026, allowed the petition and quashed the SCN. Consequently, all proceedings initiated by the SCN have been terminated. Greenlam Industries has stated that this order has no financial or operational impact on the company.
