Hindustan Zinc Deploys India's First 250 MT Electric Crane

Hindustan Zinc Limited has deployed India's first 250 Metric Tonne capacity electric crane at its Zinc Smelter Debari in Rajasthan. This hybrid-powered crane, capable of operating on both diesel and electric power, represents a significant step in the company's decarbonization efforts and its commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. The deployment is expected to reduce annual CO2e emissions by approximately 250.8 tonnes by replacing a diesel-operated crane. This initiative aligns with Hindustan Zinc's broader green roadmap, which includes deploying electric vehicles, LNG trucks, and electric loaders across its operations, reinforcing its position as a leader in sustainable industrial practices.
