Jagran Prakashan ordered to deposit ₹14.25 Lakhs by Supreme Court

Jagran Prakashan Limited (JPL) has been directed by the Hon'ble Supreme Court to deposit an award amount of ₹14,25,499/- concerning two respondents, Amar Kumar Singh and Kishan Lal. The deposit must be made within four weeks from July 15, 2026. The court clarified that this deposit does not constitute a concession by JPL and will not impact pending proceedings. The respondents' prayer for immediate release of the funds has been rejected at this stage. JPL anticipates no material impact on its business operations from this directive. The litigation stems from claims filed by employees under the Working Journalists Act, related to the Dainik Jagran, Noida establishment.
