Maruti Suzuki Receives Customs Order for ₹4.74 Cr Duty & Penalty

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd has received an Order-In-Original from the Commissioner of Customs, Maharashtra, concerning the payment of duties on imported goods. The order alleges payment of duties at a different rate and demands payment of differential duty amounting to INR 4,73,94,938/-, along with an equal penalty of INR 4,73,94,938/- and applicable interest. The company intends to challenge this order before the appropriate authority. Maruti Suzuki has stated that this order will not have a major impact on its financial, operational, or other activities.
