MCX Loses Bombay HC Writ, Fined ₹5 Lakh

Multi Commodity Exchange of India Ltd (MCX) has been informed that the Hon'ble Bombay High Court uploaded an order on July 04, 2026, dismissing a criminal writ filed by the company in 2017. The court has imposed a cost of ₹5,00,000 to be paid to the Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa’s Advocate Academy and Research Centres. The company stated that no violation was alleged against it, and it does not expect significant financial implications beyond the imposed cost. MCX may challenge the order.
