Novartis India Acquires 'Minipress' Trademarks for ₹1250 Cr

Novartis India Limited has approved the acquisition of the trademarks 'Minipress' and 'Minipres' registered in India, along with related intellectual property rights, from Pfizer Inc. USA and Pfizer Products Inc. USA. The total aggregate consideration for this transaction is ₹1250,00,10,000 (One Thousand Two Hundred Fifty Crores and Ten Thousand only). The company executed an asset purchase agreement and trademark assignment deeds on September 7, 2026, with the signing and closing occurring simultaneously. The acquired trademarks are for the drug Minipress XL, which treats hypertension and benign prostatic hyperplasia, and recorded revenues of INR 228.6 crores in July 2026 with a 6.3% CAGR over four years.
