Ola Electric Secures BIS Certification for Indigenous LFP Cell

Ola Electric Mobility Ltd's subsidiary, Ola Cell Technologies (OCT), has received Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification for its indigenously developed 46100 LFP cylindrical cell. This makes Ola Electric the first Indian company to achieve BIS certification for a 46100 format cell, bolstering India's battery manufacturing capabilities and energy independence. The cell also meets IS 16893 (Parts 2 & 3) and UN 38.3 standards, passing rigorous safety and performance evaluations. The LFP 46100 cell, with an energy density over 170 Wh/kg and potential for over 4,000 cycles, expands Ola's in-house cell portfolio and supports future EV and energy storage solutions.
