
Power Grid Acquires Bhadla Ramgarh Power Transmission for ₹12.86 Cr
Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has successfully acquired Bhadla Ramgarh Power Transmission Limited for an aggregate value of approximately ₹12.86 Crore. This acquisition, made on a build, own, operate, and transfer (BOOT) basis, was completed on July 29, 2026, following POWERGRID emerging as the successful bidder under a Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process. The acquired entity, a Project SPV, will focus on establishing an Inter-State Transmission system, including augmentation and bay extension works at substations in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. The acquisition is not a related party transaction, and Bhadla Ramgarh Power Transmission Limited is in the same business line as POWERGRID. Further regulatory approvals for the transmission license and charges are pending from the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission.
