Power Grid wins ₹3,244 Cr Transmission Project in Rajasthan
Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has been declared the successful bidder for the "Transmission system for evacuation of power from Rajasthan REZ Ph-IV (Part-5: 6 GW) [Barmer Complex] Barmer-II: 6 GW (Solar) (LCC Configuration)" project. The project, to be executed on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis, involves an annual transmission charge of ₹3,244.33 Crore. The scope includes establishing ±800 kV HVDC terminals at Barmer-II (Rajasthan) and South Kalamb S/s (Maharashtra), a 1000 km HVDC bipole line, and associated 400kV transmission lines and bays.
