Power Grid Acquires Fatehgarh Transmission for ₹19.11 Crore

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has acquired 100% stake in Fatehgarh II Transmission Limited for an aggregate value of approximately ₹19.11 Crore. This acquisition was made pursuant to POWERGRID emerging as the successful bidder under the Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) route. Fatehgarh II Transmission Limited is a Project SPV established to set up an Inter-State Transmission system for installing Synchronous Condenser units at Fatehgarh-II PS on a build, own, operate, and transfer (BOOT) basis. The acquired entity operates in the Power Transmission industry, aligning with POWERGRID's core business. Regulatory approvals for the transmission license and adoption of transmission charges are pending from the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission.
