Solarworld Subsidiary Wins Tax Appeal, ₹1.22 Cr Penalty Annulled

Solarworld Energy Solutions Ltd announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, ZNShine Solarworld Private Limited, has won a significant tax appeal. The appeal was filed against an order by the Assistant Commissioner, State Tax, Uttarakhand, which had imposed a penalty of ₹1,22,12,498/-. The appellate authority has set aside the impugned order, annulled the penalty, and held the imported goods as genuine. The failure to select the multi-vehicle option on the E-Way Bill portal was deemed a procedural lapse, not tax evasion. Any deposited amounts will be refunded or adjusted, and the goods/vehicles are to be released. The company stated there is no adverse financial impact.
