Sterlite Technologies Wins ₹8.56 Cr DoT Litigation

Sterlite Technologies Limited (STL) has successfully concluded a litigation with the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) concerning a demand notice of ₹8.56 Crores. The demand, issued in August 2020 for alleged violation of IP-I Registration terms, was contested by STL. An Arbitral Award dated May 17, 2023, quashed the demand entirely. DoT challenged this award, but the Hon'ble High Court of Delhi dismissed their petition, upholding the award in STL's favor. This outcome means STL has zero financial or operational exposure from this matter.
