GLAS Agency (Hong Kong) Limited, acting as an agent for lenders under a US$1 billion facility agreement, has disclosed an encumbrance on 2,204,724,753 equity shares of Vedanta Aluminium Metal Limited (VAML). This represents 56.38% of VAML's total share capital. The encumbrance arises from conditions within the facility agreement, which includes restrictions on creating security over VAML shares and requires the Vedanta Resources Limited group to maintain control over VAML.
