Vishal Mega Mart Subsidiary Faces ₹2.68 Cr Eviction & Rent Order

Vishal Mega Mart's subsidiary, Airplaza Retail Holdings Private Limited, has received an order from the Commercial Court at Rajarhat, West Bengal. The order pertains to a legal dispute with landlord Flowers Valley Floriculture Private Limited concerning eviction and recovery of contractual rent and mesne profits for a store in Kolkata. The subsidiary is directed to pay ₹2,68,31,676 for rent and GST for April 2020 to December 18, 2020, and vacate the premises within two months. A claim for mesne profits of ₹2,00,000 per day from December 19, 2020, is also involved. The subsidiary is reviewing the order and plans to file an appeal.
