For a textile/manufacturing name, revenue grew a modest 9.7% but adjusted PAT nearly quadrupled on genuine margin expansion (net margin ~1.6%→~5.6%) driven by cost mix rather than one-offs, marking the highest quarterly PAT in the last four quarters.

Pashupati Cotspin's consolidated revenue rose 9.7% YoY to ₹130.01 Cr from ₹118.50 Cr, while consolidated PAT (pre-minority) surged to ₹7.25 Cr from ₹1.93 Cr a year ago, a ~276% increase; profit attributable to owners was ₹7.24 Cr versus ₹1.98 Cr. Standalone figures are nearly identical (revenue ₹122.11 Cr, PAT ₹7.24 Cr), since the two LLP subsidiaries — Pashupati Cotyarn LLP and Sarjak Infra LLP — contributed only ₹0.53 Cr of minority-attributed profit; the standalone/consolidated divergence is well under 1% and not material. No exceptional items were booked in either period, so the YoY move needs no one-off adjustment. EPS was ₹0.46 versus a restated ₹0.13 a year ago, following the company's 10:1 face-value sub-division (₹10 to ₹1, record date April 17, 2026).

The profit growth outpaced revenue by a wide margin because of margin expansion rather than volume: on our calculation, consolidated net margin rose to roughly 5.6% from roughly 1.6% YoY, and PBT margin to about 7.3% from about 2.3%. The driver sits in the cost mix — purchase of stock-in-trade (traded finished goods) more than doubled YoY to ₹41.37 Cr from ₹17.83 Cr, while cost of material consumed (own manufacturing input) fell to ₹71.80 Cr from ₹86.75 Cr, and finance costs eased to ₹3.03 Cr from ₹3.54 Cr. Sequentially, revenue fell 23.7% from the March-2026 quarter (₹170.27 Cr) while PAT actually rose sharply, to ₹7.25 Cr from ₹1.72 Cr — management's own notes flag that Q1 (April-June, off-season) is not comparable to Q4 (still within the October-April ginning season) or to the year-ago Q1, given the seasonal nature of the cotton ginning business, so this QoQ swing reflects the business cycle rather than a trend.

Beyond the headline

What the summary numbers don't show

QoQ revenue -23.7% vs Q4FY26's ₹170.27 Cr but PAT +321% QoQ — management flags Q1/Q4 as seasonally non-comparable

A web search found no analyst previews, brokerage estimates, or consensus figures for this print, consistent with Pashupati Cotspin being an uncovered micro-cap (~15.78 Cr shares outstanding post-split); vsStreet is unknown. Our records hold no prior earnings-call commentary and no formal management guidance for this quarter, so vsGuidance is also unknown — the company has given no outlook on record. The filing carries no separate press release or management commentary beyond the standard notes to the results. On the corporate-action side, Craft Emerging Market Fund built a 6.42% stake in the company (acquired around June 6, 2026, with the disclosure revised on July 24, 2026), a new institutional holder emerging alongside this result; separately, the board had recommended a ₹0.05 final dividend for FY26 (approved May 29, 2026) and routinely closed the trading window ahead of this filing (June 26, 2026). The same board meeting that approved these results also recorded the resignation of the Company Secretary and the appointment of a replacement — an administrative change unconnected to the financial print.

  • W1

Whether the trading-heavy cost mix (purchase of stock-in-trade ₹41.37 Cr vs cost of material consumed ₹71.80 Cr this quarter) persists into Q2 FY27 or reverts as the off-season ends

  • W2

Margin trajectory once the Oct-Apr ginning season resumes in Q3/Q4 FY27, given management's note that Q1 is not comparable to the seasonally heavier quarters

  • W3
