Oil India Limited (OIL) has announced the discovery of natural gas in its third exploratory well, Vijayapuram-3, located in the Andaman Shallow Offshore Block (AN-OSHP-2018/1). This marks the second instance of hydrocarbon presence in the block, following the discovery in the Vijayapuram-2 well on September 26, 2025. Initial production testing indicates the presence of natural gas, with further analysis underway to determine its composition and origin. This discovery is a positive indicator for potential hydrocarbon accumulation and will guide future exploration strategies. OIL has already initiated an appraisal program, including seismic data reprocessing and acquisition, with plans for further appraisal drilling.

Oil India Ltd has been fined ₹5,49,880 each by the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) and BSE Limited for the quarter ended March 2026. The fines were imposed due to non-compliance with SEBI (LODR) Regulations, 2015, specifically regarding the non-appointment of the required number of Independent Directors (including one Woman Independent Director) and the composition of the Audit Committee and Nomination & Remuneration Committee. Oil India Ltd. has announced a new gas discovery in the Dandewala Field in Rajasthan. The well recorded an inflow of approximately 25,000 SCMD of natural gas from a depth of around 950 meters. This marks the first successful establishment of gas presence in the shallower Sanu Formation within the field. Preliminary estimates indicate a Gas In Place of 75 MMSCM, enhancing the overall prospectivity of the Dandewala field and future development efforts.

Standalone PAT for Q4 FY26 was ₹1,790 crore, driven by increased crude oil production and price realization. The Board recommended a final dividend of ₹1.00 per equity share, in addition to interim dividends of ₹3.50 and ₹7.00 per share. The company achieved its highest-ever drilling and workover operations during the year, with a record 74 wells drilled and 307 workover jobs completed. Material subsidiary NRL saw a 90% PAT growth to ₹3,057 crore.
