Bharat Coking Coal to deposit ₹39.8 Cr towards workmen litigation

Bharat Coking Coal Ltd has disclosed a material litigation concerning an award dated 08.06.2000 for regularizing 75 workmen. After a series of legal challenges, including dismissal of Special Leave and Review Petitions by the Supreme Court, the company was directed by the Jharkhand High Court to deposit arrears. A committee approved a deposit of ₹39,83,01,981.63 towards claims submitted. The total estimated financial involvement, including pending claims, is approximately ₹48,10,96,969.83. The matter is ongoing before the Jharkhand High Court.
