
Bharat Forge Signs ₹425 Cr MoD Contract for Navy GTGs
Bharat Forge Limited (BFL) has secured a significant ₹425 Crore contract with the Ministry of Defence (MoD) to supply Gas Turbine Generators (GTGs) to the Indian Navy. The contract, to be executed over five years, involves supplying 1.25 MW GTGs for onboard power generation on Kolkata class ships. This marks BFL's entry into the marine gas turbine business and will deliver the first indigenous GT-based power plant for Indian Naval ships. BFL will establish a dedicated integration and test facility and will also participate in future design and development programs for larger power plants and propulsion GTs, enhancing indigenous manufacturing capabilities and ensuring sovereignty in maintenance operations.
