Bharti Airtel Fined ₹1.06 Lakh by DoT for Verification Norms

Bharti Airtel has received a notice from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Uttar Pradesh (East) LSA, imposing a penalty of ₹1,06,000. The penalty is for alleged violations of subscriber verification norms, as identified during a Customer Application Form (CAF) Audit for April 2026. The company is required to ensure adequate customer verification as per its license agreement. Bharti Airtel has decided to pay the penalty and not contest it, indicating the maximum financial impact is limited to the levied amount.
