Coal India Appoints Smt. Sona Kumari as Independent Director

Coal India Limited (CIL) has announced the appointment of Smt. Sona Kumari as a non-official Independent Director to its Board. The appointment, made by the Ministry of Coal, is effective from July 18, 2026, for a term of three years or until further orders. Smt. Kumari holds a degree in Sociology and has experience in teaching and serving on national committees, as well as mentoring NGOs in education and social upliftment. She is not related to any other director and is not debarred from holding such office. This appointment is in compliance with SEBI (LODR) Regulations 2015.
