JSW Steel Starts ₹16,350 Cr Rayalaseema Steel Project

JSW Steel has commenced development activities for its integrated steel project in the Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh. The project, to be executed by its 100% subsidiary JSW Rayalaseema Steel Ltd, will be set up in phases with a total investment of up to ₹16,350 crore. The first phase involves a ₹4,500 crore investment for a 1-MTPA Integrated Steel Plant focusing on low carbon emission steel. The second phase will expand capacity to 2 MTPA with an additional investment of up to ₹11,850 crore. The project will utilize Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) technology, focusing on recycled scrap and DRI, to produce structural steel, aligning with JSW Steel's sustainability and decarbonisation roadmap. The project is expected to boost regional industrial development and strengthen Andhra Pradesh's manufacturing capabilities.
