Muthoot Microfin: Promoter Trusts Acquire Control of Muthoot Fincorp
Muthoot Microfin Limited (MML) has announced a significant internal restructuring. Six promoter trusts, namely Thomas John Muthoot (MF) Trust, Thomas George Muthoot (MF) Trust, Thomas Muthoot (MF) Trust, Preethi John Muthoot (MF) Trust, Nina George (MF) Trust, and Remmy Thomas (MF) Trust, have acquired 66.76% of Muthoot Fincorp Limited (MFL) shares. This acquisition was facilitated by an exemption order from SEBI and is part of succession planning. As MFL holds 50.21% of MML, these trusts now indirectly control MML's shareholding. Importantly, the total shareholding of the promoters in Muthoot Microfin Limited remains unchanged following these transactions. Disclosures under SEBI (Substantial Acquisition of Shares and Takeovers) Regulations, 2011, and SEBI (Prohibition of Insider Trading) Regulations, 2015, have been made.
