NMDC Commissions ₹5,427 Cr Integrated Iron Ore Project in Bastar

NMDC Ltd has commissioned a significant integrated project in Bastar, Chhattisgarh, involving a 2 MTPA pellet plant, an iron ore processing plant, and a 135 km slurry pipeline. The project, with a total investment of ₹5,427 crore, connects its iron ore operations at Bacheli with its steel plant at Nagarnar. This initiative enhances NMDC's value chain by processing iron ore fines and slimes into concentrate and then into pellets using Straight Grate Induration technology. The slurry pipeline offers an alternative to road and rail transport, reducing logistical dependencies and environmental impact. This commissioning is a key step in NMDC's strategy to increase iron ore production capacity to 100 million tonnes.
