Samvardhana Motherson's Subsidiary Starts Production at New Pune Facility

Samvardhana Motherson International Limited announced that its subsidiary, Motherson Electro Components Limited (MECL), has commenced commercial production at a new greenfield manufacturing facility in Pune, Maharashtra. This facility will enhance the company's Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) capability within its Lighting & Electronics vertical, producing printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA) and electronic control units (ECU). The plant starts with an initial capacity of 1.5 million pieces per annum, with plans for further ramp-up. The total investment to date is INR 940 million. This expansion aligns with the company's Vision 2030 and strengthens in-sourcing of key electronic components.
