Shree Cement Appeal Dismissed, Tax Demand Reinstated

Shree Cement Ltd announced that the Additional Commissioner (Appeals), SGST, Patna has dismissed its appeal against a demand order from the Deputy Commissioner, State Tax, Patna. The dismissal was for technical reasons, reinstating tax demands, interest, and penalties totaling approximately ₹41.88 crore for one case and ₹25.60 crore for another. The company stated that the order has no major financial impact and it plans to file an appeal before the GST Appellate Tribunal based on the merits of the case. This action relates to alleged valuation issues and excess Input Tax Credit (ITC) availed.
