Tata Motors to Deploy 3,000 Electric Trucks with Amazon
Tata Motors and Amazon have announced a collaboration to deploy 3,000 electric trucks across Amazon's transportation network in India. This marks the largest electric-truck deployment by an e-commerce company in India and extends fleet electrification beyond last-mile delivery. The deployment begins with Tata Ultra E.7 trucks during the festive season, supporting within-city freight movement. The plan includes electrifying the 2,800-km Delhi–Bengaluru–Chennai corridor along NH48. Tata Motors will supply the trucks, while Amazon's carrier partners will own and operate them. This initiative aims to scale electric freight transportation and address adoption barriers, supported by charging infrastructure and government incentives.
