Tata Power partners Ocean Sun for floating solar tech
Tata Power has partnered with Norway-based Ocean Sun to introduce membrane-based floating solar technology to India. A ~300 kWp pilot project will be undertaken at Tata Power's Mulshi reservoir in Maharashtra to evaluate the technology's performance, reliability, cost-competitiveness, and scalability under Indian conditions. This collaboration aims to leverage India's significant floating solar potential, estimated at over 102 GWp, to complement existing solar deployments and reduce land dependency. The pilot will assess key parameters including energy generation, capacity utilization, installation, O&M, and commercial viability, potentially paving the way for wider adoption of this innovative clean energy solution.
